I have made it another week! Yesterday was my weekly doctor appt and it went well. I am still having some small contractions, but the medicine seems to be working. Good news! I was glad to get some good news and I most definitely didn't want to go back over to the hospital. Doctor says the baby looks great and that what we are doing is working. We have 4 more weeks to go and she seems to think I'll meet that goal. At that point no more meds and she predicts I'll deliver within a few days. So it is looking like an end of April or first of May baby girl! I am ready now, but I know she needs a little more baking...so I'll just have to be patient.
Bed rest is going okay...my mom has been here off and on and that has helped a ton! Plus I have a wonderful mother-in-law who checks on me and brings us food and vacuums...we are so lucky to have such good parents! And my wonderful friends who keep bringing food over - so we are being taken care of very well. My work sent me some projects to do from home and that has helped pass the time some too. All in all I can't complain.

Back to the Hospital
We have had an interesting week! We went Tuesday morning to my regular 32 week check-up and they found that I was still having contractions. My doctor was obviously concerned about this so she sent me back over to L&D for a couple of days. She wanted me to be on the monitor for at least 24 hours so she could see what was happening. Luckily I was able to come home Wednesday afternoon. Being in the hospital is not fun! They think they have my medicine regulated now to calm down those contractions. I am now officially on bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy. My doctor wants me to make it another 5 weeks and then she said she would let nature takes its course. So I am at home trying to be a good little patient! My mom came yesterday and is taking care of everything - it has been great. I think she will stay until Saturday and then go home, probably come back late next week too. I feel okay, the meds they have me taking have lots of side effects: headaches, sweating, jittery and heart racing sensation. They say that my body will get used to the meds and I wont' notice the side effects as much - I hope that happens soon! Well I will keep you all posted on any changes, I'll have plenty of time for emailing and blogging now!

More Baby Drama!
Yesterday turned out to be an interesting day. I had a 2:30 appt to go back to the doctor for more tests and they found that I was having contractions. Mild contractions, but still contractions are not what they want at 31 1/2 weeks. So I got a nice wheelchair ride over to L&D and got checked in for observersation. They put me in a laboring type room and hooked me up to some monitors to watch the contractions and the baby's heartbeat. They also gave me an IV of fluids for hydration (guess that is standard) and gave me an injection of a drug to stop the contractions. I was told I could have up to 3 injections before we would have to go to "Plan B." All of this of course on a day where Nathan was traveling from Houston for work! Ha! My lovely mother-in-law kindly came to sit with me...it was greatly appreciated and I know it made my mom feel better knowing Marsha was there. The mild contractions continued for a little while so I got another injection of the drugs. Nathan arrived around 5:30 and then finally around 6:30 I got to go home. I now am taking this drug in the pill form every 6 hours to keep my friend the uterus calm and not contracting. All in all we are fine, it was a good practice run for me to see how things will go when the time really does arrive. Hopefully, we can make it to 36 weeks - which is what this drug is supposed to help with. As for bed rest...well I am not sure yet. I see my doctor again on Tuesday morning and I guess we will come up with a plan then. Until then I'll be sitting around taking it easy.

The Nursery Reveal
Last weekend was a fun and busy weekend! My parents came down and my mom brought all the bedding and curtains for the nursery. Oh my goodness it is cute! My mom did a great job! It is pretty much finished with the exception of a few finishing touches. I am so thankful to have it all complete - it has been a huge relief with all the other things going on. At least if she does come early she will have a beautiful room waiting for her. I love it so much that I keep going in there just to lay on the day bed or sit in the chair...it is so peaceful and cute. I can't wait for her to get here! Without further delay here are some pictures...

30 Weeks - Early Labor?
Well we have had a couple of scary days. Yesterday I was not feeling well and I went to my 30 week checkup. I talked to my doctor about how I was feeling and was expecting the usual "that is part of pregnancy" response, but I didn't get that yesterday. My doctor said that all my symptoms were classic pre-term labor signs. She did some additional testing to see if I was dilated or having contractions...thankfully I was not! However, there was some concern about my cervix. She put me on a restricted level - basically slow down, no active or strenuous activities. She also had me go today for a high level sono to measure some things. The reports were good today - thank goodness! For now I don't have to go on bed rest, which is great news. It looks like I will have to repeat these tests in 3-4 weeks and we'll see what happens.
Thanks to all of you that were praying about this, God is good! Please continue to pray that little baby Holm will continue to "bake in the oven" for as long as possible. And I am going to be more serious about taking it easy...I guess it's time to milk it for all its worth.

Time Is Flying By...
I have not been faithful to updating our blog because we have been soooo busy the last few weeks! I can't believe that I will be 30 weeks as of Tuesday...all of a sudden time is flying by.
I survived my big convention at work last weekend, it went well...but I obviously didn't have the stamina that normally would have so I was exhausted throughout.
Nathan & I are doing the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace Univ class. We are really enjoying it and learning so much! If you don't know about it the class is 13 weeks long and involves finacial planning and helps you form new habits. It has given us a new hope of being debt free and a plan to build a great retirement and wealth. We have 3 other couples that are doing it with us and it is great fun. We would recommend it to anyone!
This Tuesday we start our child birth classes at the hospital. I am not really expecting to learn anything profound, but I am hoping that the class gives me a sense of comfort about the hospital. Mostly just to know where to go and know what to expect from the nurses and hospital will ease my mind. This class lasts 7 weeks, so I am sure I will have funny stories in the weeks to come about our experiences there. Amidst all of these classes we are taking and working our jobs we are also in search of a family car...ugh! I hate looking for a car! My car is a 2 door so it must go...the car seat just won't work with a 2 door car. We have been looking for several months, but nothing has worked out yet. Patience is what we need, but it is another item on the "to do" list that just isn't getting checked off.
All in all we cannot complain...I am having a very normal pregnancy and we have lots to be thankful for! Until next time...
