Cooper Update
I saw my doctor today, still no change. So we set a date to induce next week. If all else fails we will meet Mr. Cooper next Tuesday, 9/21.
Everyone, including my doctor, cannot believe I am still pregnant! This pregnancy has been a complete opposite from when I had Abby. I am so ready to get this little stinker out!

Dinner conversation
A: mommy you are getting married!
L: well I am already married
A: but who married you?
L: I am married to daddy.
A: but I was going to marry daddy!
L: oh you were?
A: well I guess I'll marry Braden then (Shuttlesworth)
Or I could marry Tiff (our sitter) or Kiki (Tiff's cat).

Hmm I am thinking marriage is a loose term to her. What do you think???
Just like her father, always entertaining!!

Baby Update
Hey thought I'd give everyone a quick baby update. Went to the doctor last week, and Cooper is growing like a weed. Already weighing 5.5 lbs! Everything looks good, we just have to wait a few more weeks. Dr. said she would like for me to make it to Labor Day weekend and then we can talk about having this baby. It is such a relief to be able to see the end in sight! The heat has been crazy hot, so I pretty much sit inside in the air conditioning. I have been having contractions off and on, so she has asked me to cut back a little on life and starting slowing down. Which at this point, sounds great!
Abby just got back from a week long vacation with my parents. They went to Ruidoso, NM to visit my grandparents. She did great, getting a little home sick toward the end of the trip. But LOVED the farm animals that were on-site at the place they stayed. There was Doc, the horse, and Megatron & Vanilla, the goats. Apparently, she had to be pulled away each day after feeding them and talking to them for over an hour! She is a true animal lover, just like her father.
I'll keep you posted as we grow closer to Mr. Cooper's arrival, can't believe it is almost time! What on earth am I going to do with 2 children?!?!? Guess it is a little late for that question. :)

Summer Catch Up
Well it has been a HOT summer around here, and when you combine that with being very pregnant ... then nothing really gets done. So I am trying to play a little catch up and tell you about our summer.
In May we went to Memphis for a long weekend to celebrate Nathan's grandmothers birthday. It was a nice trip, and Abby did surprising well with the 8 hour drive. She enjoyed staying in a hotel and swimming in the hotel pool. This is her at the party, not wanting to have her picture taken .. what can I say ...she's 3!
In June we went to the lake a couple of times and enjoyed swimming and being lazy with the family. Also, in June I had my bi-annual work conference in Ft. Worth. So Abby went to stay with my parents in Oklahoma for about 5 days. Of course, she didn't want to come home!
Here she is with Gigi & Papa feeding the ducks at the Duck Pond on campus.
In July we went back to the lake for the 4th of July. It was fun, as always ... you can see those pictures in the previous post. And really since early July we haven't done much. I am definitely slowing down - only have about 7 more weeks to go. And I am so hot and uncomfortable at this point. However, I try to stay in the air conditioning as much as I can!
We have decided on a first name for our little boy .... drum roll please ...
COOPER Holm
His middle name is still undetermined, but will likely be a family name from one of us. :)
We are getting excited and nervous about his arrival. And I am hoping that Abby will be a great big sister and a helper. We certainly talk about it alot, but we will just have to see.
As for Nathan he has been working like crazy this summer doing about 3 or 4 peoples jobs on top of his own. I think it is finally getting better as they have hired some help after some early summer layoffs. Also, he has been taking a class. So he is gone Monday & Wednesday nights till 11 pm. I really don't know how he does it! But his class is over in a couple of weeks, so the end is in sight.
Well more to come about the rest of the summer, or at least I'll try!

haircut
I took Abby to get a haircut after school today. Afterwards we are in the car she says ... "mom, something is wrong with my hair" as she says this she is pulling it out from her head and trying to look at it. Then she says "it's broken, she broke my hair."
I mean really where does she come up with this stuff!?

Sono Pic
We had our first sonogram last week. Everything looks great. Baby is about an inch in size and growing just as it should. We can't wait to find out the sex of this baby. But we have to wait till late April for that info. It always amazes me even at 9 weeks how much is already developed. How can anyone deny God's part in all of this. So unbelievable!

#2
Well in case you haven't heard our latest news ... we are expecting baby #2 this September. I have not felt too good the few weeks, but it doesn't seem to be quite as bad as when I was pregnant with Abby. Hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks I'll turn a corner (fingers crossed).
So we are excited, but nervous too. Lots of things to do and lots of changes coming our way with 2 kiddos.
Another #2 has been a big deal around here lately as well. Actually #1 and #2 ... Abby is potty trained. Well mostly, but close. A few weeks ago we decided to bite the bullet and go for it. She did better than I expected and really only the first day was the hardest. She is VERY into Disney Princesses right now, so we rewarded/bribed her with Princess panties, stickers, treats, etc... It worked! She has been mostly accident free and I am so thankful for that. But I do carry around extra clothes, panties, towels, plastic bags ... just in case we are out and experience the big flood. :) Gotta be prepared.
Anyway, that is pretty much it for around here. Not all that exciting.

She said 6! Ha! I said well you are right about daddy ... Maturity wise anyway! Hahaha, love it.

Prayer
Abby wanted to say our prayer at dinner tonight, it went something like this ...
"Dear God, thank you for our food, thank you for our family, thank you for strawberries, bluebellies (blueberries), beans and chips. Thank you for Jesus ... AMEN (said quite loudly)."
Oh my we were so proud! We have been working on saying prayers with just thank you for our food and thank you for our family, but she made it her own tonight.
Just had to share and remind myself that we must be doing something right! It is certainly the moments like these that keep you going - if you have/or have had a 2 year old you know what I mean. :)
Hope everyone is off to a great start this New Year. I will try to catch up this weekend and blog about our holidays.
